Back To The Pac-Man

Pac-Man is my first love of video games. When I was a kid, it was all about the Pac-Man. The games, the cartoon, the cereal, the toys, ect. We've had our ups(Pac-Land! Damn, great game!) and our downs(Professor Pac-Man. I saw this cabinet first and last in West Edmonton Mall's Fantasyland arcade in the early 80's. I looked at it and walked right by it to play Space Ace).

Today, anything new or re-released with that familiar yellow circle and classic jingle is enough to sweeten a sour soul. So here we go! A run down of newly released or re-released if you will, Pac-Man goodies for the up coming holiday season.

This thing right here is one of the sweetest toys ever. Jakks TV games has been pumping out TV plug and play games for hundreds of years now and they're newly released "Arcade Gold featuring Pac-Man" stick rocks balls. 8 bitchin' arcade classics are slammed into this baby! Looking at it, puts me into a diabetic comma. Here are the games -

Pac-Man
Pac-Man Plus
Pac and Pal
Super Pac-Man
New Rally-X
Galaxian
Dig Dug
Bosconian

Awesome stuff!

Next, we've got a PlayStation 2 collection of world wide awesome proportions. The Pac-Man Power Pack features the so hot, it'll give you a boner 3-D platformers Pac-Man World 2 & 3 plus the decent kart racing experience, Pac-Man World Rally. Hell yeah!

Owners of the newly released T-Mobile G1(it's supposedly the latest iPhone killer, yeah good luck with that buddies) will be happy to learn that the arcade classic Pac-Man is available for FREE. Yes, you heard right. It's freeeeee baby! Check out the news here.

Finally, in a month and a half a brand new Namco Museum collection is going to slam it's big ass on your favorite Microsoft console. The Namco Museum: Virtual Arcade will include over 30 classics for your X-Box 360. Not only do you get Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man, but you get the very explosive, hotter than Billy Mitchel's "Ricky's Hot Sauce" Pac-Man Championship Edition! I holler... You scream!!!

All this Pac-Man talk makes me reach back into my collective past. 2 years ago was his 25th anniversary and I never got around to do a special retrospective podcast. Hmmm... Looks like I gotta plan something for the future.

Cheers!
