Puppy Sells 250,000 Strong!

Nintendo has just announed that within it's first week, 250,000 copies of Nintendog's have been sold across North America. These numbers are pretty amazing but not unexpected. The "game" if you can call it, was built from the ground up as an attractive piece of software for men, women, gamers and non-gamers.

I'll point out the incredible zero budget a title like this has. This game is all profit for Nintendo. I'm sure it took time to develop but we're not talking about Zelda or Halo or Metal Gear world development here. No. We're talkin' about tiny virtual puppies and doggie sound bites and N64 graphics. Yet, gamers and non-gamers alike are eating this up.

Innovation is Nintendo's key word and it's paying off.
