Wii Fit Fault

So I finally got off my lazy ass to do some WiiFit today.  And it wouldn't let me play.  Because my Wiimote had the nunchuck plugged in. Why the hell can't I play WiiFit with the nunchuck plugged in. Most of the time you just set the controller aside. How about you make a fuss when I only need just the WiiMote? Like for the French press dealy?
